So you have started to optimize your 5G system and now you ask yourself what does RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ and SINR mean? In the following three articles we will explain the three most important metrics you need to know to optimize your 5G system.
Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI)
This is a rough indicator of how strong the radio signal is that reaches your router, it doesn't really say much about if this signal is usable, because the indicator includes all received signals including noise, therefore our recommendation is to ignore this value for your optimisations. However here is a quality interpretation based on our experiences:
Value |
Quality |
> -65dBm |
Excellent |
< -65dBm |
Good |
< -75dBm |
Fair |
< -90dBm |
Poor |
< -100dBm |
Critical |
