Did you know that the 4G and 5G signal is actually +45° and -45°polarised? In this article you will learn why your antenna position matters and how you can improve your speed right now without buying anything.
Polarisation of the 4G and 5G signals
Radio frequencies can be imagined like a sinewave that travels to your router, this sinewave has a specific angle in which they is beeing sent to your router. If your router antenna is in the same angle, it can receive these signals best. If the angle is of it can half your received signal strength (-3dB). Your provider sends and receives in two angles +45° and - 45° which means if your antennas are just straight up that is not correct.
How to angle your antennas correctly
As you can see in the picture above and here the Router antennas need to be angled like this: one antenna 45 degree to the left and one antenna 45 degree to the right
This will improve your speed and stability. If you have a bit more time you can try to rotate your router to see if that brings both antennas perfectly aligned with your provider but for this we also have more articles.
Give it a try! Of course better Antennas like our TGA128 or TGA128-PRO would help even more.
